"The least of all the seeds" (Mt 13:32). Look at what He picked. Not the oak. Not the cedar of Lebanon, which every Israelite knew and every prophet used when he wanted to talk about a kingdom. He picked a speck of a seed. The kind of thing you lose in the cuff of your pants. And then a woman, and her bread dough, and leaven, which in the Scriptures is hardly ever a compliment, and she “hid” it (Mt 13:33). Hid it in three measures of meal. The kingdom of heaven is like something you can't see.
