How research works
What is an Intelligent Report?
An Intelligent Report is a structured AI briefing built from a podcast episode's audio — themes, takeaways, and context for research. It is not a transcript. We transcribe the recording, then run enrichment to produce themes, takeaways, and a structured briefing. It is research-grade draft material — always verify important claims against the original episode. Intelligent Reports are generated on our worker and usually take hours, not seconds.
Reading Intelligent Reports
- When an Intelligent Report already exists, open the episode page and expand Intelligent Report (when that section is available on the page).
- Free accounts see a short teaser (~800 characters). Research Pro gets the full report and print-friendly layout.
- Completed intelligent reports in our catalog are shared — any Pro subscriber can read them; you do not spend a report commission to open an existing intelligent report.
Commissioning new Intelligent Reports (Research Pro only)
- Episode already in our catalog with RSS audio — use Commission Intelligent Reporton the podcast episode list or on that episode's page.
- New show not in our catalog — submit Request a podcast feed. We ingest the show (~10 episodes). Then open the podcast page and request intelligent reports on the episodes you need (each uses a report commission).
- Find episodes faster — Research Pro Episode discovery searches our catalog plus a broader podcast index (any topic — true crime, legal, tech, etc.). Off-catalog hits can be added and commissioned in one step (may use a feed credit if the show is new).
- Show already indexed — browse the podcast page and request on the specific episode you need. Submitting the feed URL again will not use a credit; we point you to the catalog instead.
Monthly credits (Research Pro)
Research Pro includes 5 new feed requests and 10 Intelligent Report commissions per calendar month (UTC). Each feed request indexes the 10 most recent episodes overnight. Report commissions work on any episode in our catalog or on shows you add via feed request — existing intelligent reports and already-queued work do not count.
| Action | Credit pool | Monthly cap |
|---|---|---|
| New podcast feed request (nightly ingest) | Feed request | 5 |
| Commission Intelligent Report on an episode | Report commission | 10 |
| Read an existing intelligent report | None | — |
| Feed URL for a show we already index | None (redirect) | — |
| Episode already queued or report exists | None | — |
Why don't I see "Commission Intelligent Report"?
- Intelligent Report already exists — expand Intelligent Report above; no commission needed.
- No RSS audio URL in our catalog — we cannot transcribe without an enclosure from the feed. Try another episode on the same podcast, or (as Pro) request the show feed if it is not indexed yet.
- Not signed in or not on Research Pro — sign in to read teasers; upgrade to Pro to commission new research.
- Monthly cap reached — feed requests and report commissions have separate limits; check usage on Account and try again next month.
